Discipleship at Trinity is where we live out our mission statement of "Journeying with Jesus, inviting, serving, and teaching fellow travelers." In these times together--Sunday morning Discipleship classes, Community Groups, service projects, etc.--we put the rubber to the road, actually doing the things we love to talk about. In Discipleship classes, we go deeper into the Word of God, into the spiritual disciplines, into practices for compassionate living in this world. We talk and pray together about why these things are hard, important, and grace-giving, and then we spend time doing them together. We gain strength from the stories of our sisters and brothers, and we commit to walking on this journey together. Spending our time in these transformational activities is one of the ways the Trinity family is being formed by our God. Come and join us--we need your perspective and presence!

Our Journey
January 6 - May 11
During this time of intentional discipleship there will be three phases of Our Journey; the Listening Phase (Jan. 6th-Feb. 3rd or Christmas and Epiphany), the Kneeling Phase (Feb. 10th-Mar. 16th or Lent), and the Rising Phase (March 30th-May 11th or Easter to Pentecost). During the Listening Phase we will be listening to God and to each other as we journey through the Old Testament story. The Kneeling Phase will place us in the position of submitting to the call of the gospel as we journey with Jesus through the gospels. And finally, we will rise with Jesus during the Rising Phase as we journey through the resurrection narratives and learn what it is to be the church together. Please come be a part of "Our Journey."

Homework
January 13
1. Breathing exercise:
- Find a quiet place and a comfortable position to focus on your breathing. Take comfortable even breaths.
- Begin saying, “I love you.” to God as you exhale. You are releasing your breath as a gift to God. Inhale---“I love you”---inhale---“I love you.”
- Listen for God’s word to you as in inhale … “I love you”---exhale---“I love you”---exhale---“I love you.”
2. Practice praying or reading the 32nd Psalm as a prayer of both confession and invitation for God to surround you with God’s unfailing love.
